You may be jamming out to Drake all day while you're chained to your desk at work, but do you ever wonder what other people are listening to? Do people in Los Angeles like the same music as people in Miami? And what about the Deep South?
To find out, we asked the music analytics team at Pandora to do a little digging to find out the most popular stations in 10 cities across the United States. The results are pretty interesting—take a look here.
New York City
The Big Apple is the birthplace of music heavyweights like Biggie, Lady Gaga, and Jay Z, to name a few. Hova didn't make the top 10, but his wife,Beyoncé, is the city's sixth most popular station. And despite all the gritty bars hosting indie rockers from Brooklyn on any given night, rap and hip-hop are dominating people's stations here: Drake, Fetty Wap, and Nicki Minaj claimed the top three spots. See the full list below:
- Drake
- Fetty Wap
- Nicki Minaj
- Chris Brown
- The Weeknd
- Beyoncé
- Romeo Santos
- Taylor Swift
- Sam Smith
- Rihanna
Atlanta
The ATL is a rap mecca, so it's no surprise that artists such as Chris Brown, Future, and Young Thug made the top 10. All the top stations in this city are a rap or R&B artist with the exception of maybe The Weeknd, which is often considered hipster R&B. One thing's for sure: If you want to get your twerk on, Hotlanta's your city.
- Drake
- Rich Homie Quan
- Future
- Fetty Wap
- Young Thug
- Nicki Minaj
- Beyoncé
- Chris Brown
- The Weeknd
- Trey Songz
Austin
As the host of SXSW and Austin City Limits, Austin has a rep for housing the cool crowd and knowing which artists are going to dominate the music scene before they actually do. But most of these Texans keep it mainstream in terms of what they listen to on Pandora. Like all the other cities on this list, Austin loves Drake and The Weeknd, but its residents also have a soft spot for Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars. And, as a nod to the large Spanish-speaking population, Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga also makes the list.
- Drake
- The Weeknd
- Taylor Swift
- Kevin Gates
- Fetty Wap
- Nicki Minaj
- Romeo Santos
- Bruno Mars
- Ed Sheeran
- Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga
Los Angeles
OK, we can safely assume that basically every Pandora user in America has a Drake station because he dominates this list too. But, interestingly, L.A. dwellers are more into J. Cole, YG, and Romeo Santos than those in other cities. And unlike New Yorkers, Angelenos have no love for Beyoncé.
- Drake
- The Weeknd
- Romeo Santos
- Fetty Wap
- Taylor Swift
- Nicki Minaj
- J. Cole
- YG
- Bruno Mars
- Chris Brown
Miami
Miami is one of the biggest party cities in the country, and judging from its list, the people who live there are ready to party even when they're stuck at work. Given the number Spanish speakers there, it's no surprise thatMarc Anthony, Gente de Zona, and, coming in at number one, Romeo Santos top the list. Sorry, Enrique Iglesias, they just aren't into you.
- Romeo Santos
- Drake
- Nicky Jam
- Marc Anthony
- The Weeknd
- Fetty Wap
- Nicki Minaj
- Gente de Zona
- Beyoncé
- J Balvin
Nashville
If you thoughtCarrie Underwood and Keith Urban would top Nashville's most popular Pandora stations, think again. Hip-hop artist Kevin Gates (who is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by the way) lands the top spot. In fact, no country singers are on the list at all—not even Taylor Swift, who used to be a little bit country (and Nashville's pride and joy) not too many years ago.
- Kevin Gates
- Fetty Wap
- Drake
- Nicki Minaj
- Rich Homie Quan
- Chris Brown
- Beyoncé
- The Weeknd
- Future

Boston
People from Boston may come off a bit tough, but thanks to this data, we know they're totally jamming toEd Sheeran and Sam Smith in their cars. No hometown pride for Pixies, James Taylor, or Guster? Come on, guys.

- Drake
- Taylor Swift
- The Weeknd
- Nicki Minaj
- Chris Brown

Detroit
The hometown ofEminem andThe White Stripesfavors rap by far. That's pretty much all most people there listen to on Pandora. Rich Homie Quan, Dej Loaf, and Future are three artists who are especially popular in Detroit over other places in the United States. Dej Loaf is actually from Detroit; city's got your back, girl.
- Drake
- Chris Brown
- Fetty Wap
- Trey Songz
- Nicki Minaj
- Beyoncé
- Future
- Dej Loaf
- The Weeknd
- Rich Homie Quan
Seattle
Of all the cities on this list, Seattle is by far the most pop-heavy. Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5, and Katy Perry are all favored here. And despite the city's rep as Kurt Cobain's domain, there is not one alternative or rock band on the list.
- Taylor Swift
- The Weeknd
- Drake
- Ed Sheeran
- Sam Smith
- Bruno Mars
- Fetty Wap
- Maroon 5
- Beyoncé
- Katy Perry
Jackson
Mississippi is actually a little ahead of the curve when it comes to the rap game. (Take that, Atlanta.) Here, people aren't just listening to what's popular everywhere else (Drake, cough, cough): They're switching things up with a little K. Michelle, Migos, and Lil Boosie.
